self in leg during firearms training course
FORSYTH, Georgia — Authorities say a man training to be a
Warner Robins police officer has been hospitalized after accidentally shooting
himself during a remedial firearms training course. Allison Selman-Willis,
spokeswoman for the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, tells the Telegraph of
Macon (http://bit.ly/188JQbN) the 28-year-old man was attending Basic Law
Enforcement Training at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth
when the mishap happened Monday afternoon. Selman-Willis says the man shot
himself in his right leg as he was putting his .40-caliber Glock back into his
holster.The man's wound is not believed to be life threatening.
